Letter From The President
Dear Visitors and Friends,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about Kids’ Chance of Delaware (KCDE). Workplace accidents happen frequently, and unfortunately, some result in severe injuries or fatalities. Often, these affected employees are parents with young children. Imagine your mother or father heading to work on a typical day, only to face a tragic accident that prevents them from returning home. Sadly, this scenario is more common than you might think.
Kids’ Chance of Delaware steps in to support these families and their children by providing educational assistance. We offer scholarships for college and vocational education to the children of Delaware workers or residents who have suffered fatal or serious injuries in work-related accidents. The financial hardships resulting from the loss or severe injury of a parent can make it challenging for deserving young people to pursue their educational goals.
I am deeply honored to be part of this incredible organization that helps students and their families alleviate financial burdens during their college years. With nearly 30 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry, volunteering for Kids’ Chance allows me to give back to my community—Delaware—and my industry. At KCDE, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of children who have faced difficult and challenging times.
We kindly ask for your support through donations, enabling us to provide scholarships to every eligible student in Delaware. Additionally, we need assistance in identifying potential scholarship recipients. If you know a family that may qualify, please refer them to us.
If you are interested in joining our organization, we are always looking for volunteers. Feel free to reach out to us at kcdeinfo@gmail.com.
Thank you for visiting our website and for any support you can provide.
Sincerely,
Gus R. Gonnella
President, Kids’ Chance of Delaware
