Letter From The President

Dear Visitors and Friends,

Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about Kids’ Chance of Delaware (KCOD). As we all know, accidents occur at work all the time and some of them result in injuries to the employee. However, sometimes, the injuries are so severe that it results in a fatality or a catastrophic injury. In addition, often times, those employees are parents with young children. Imagine your mother or father getting up in the morning and going to work just like any other average day. But then they do not come home because a tragedy has occurred. Unfortunately, this happens and it happens more than you know.

That is where Kids’ Chance of Delaware comes in. We provide those families and their children a little help to further their education. We provide scholarships for college and vocational education, to the children of Delaware workers or Delaware residents, who have been fatally or seriously injured in a work-related accident. The hardships these families as a result of the death or serious injury of a parent often create significant financial issues, making it even more difficult for deserving young people to pursue their educational dreams.

I am truly honored to be part of this wonderful organization that can help future or current students and their families have less financial hardships as these students go through their college years. I have been a part of the workers’ compensation industry for just under 30 years. So volunteering for Kids’ Chance is a way for me to give back to my community – Delaware, and my industry – workers’ compensation. We at KCOD want to make a difference for these children who have already been through very difficult and challenging times.

Please help us by donating to our organization so that we may offer scholarships to every single student that qualifies in Delaware. Please also help us by referring the student or family contact’s name to us, as we also need help in locating each of these students. So if you know a family that may qualify for one of our scholarships, please let us know.
