Scholarship Application Process
Kids’ Chance of Delaware provides college scholarships to the children of Delaware workers who have been severely or fatally injured in a workplace-related accident.
Basic eligibility requirements
- Must be between the ages of 16 – 25 years old
- A dependent of a parent who was seriously, catastrophically, or fatally injured in a work-related accident
- Enrolled as a full-time student at a high school, university, or technical school
- Applicant must be a resident of Delaware or the parent was seriously injured or killed in a Delaware work-related accident
- Must have already obtained a high school diploma at time of first disbursement
Complete application package checklist
- A completed Kids’ Chance of Delaware, Inc. scholarship application
- Most current academic transcript available (unofficial transcripts are accepted)
- Documentation confirming a Delaware Workers’ Compensation Claim (Claim Approval letter from Workers’ Compensation Insurance, Copy of workers’ compensation check, etc.)
- Current rehab and/or medical reports from the injured parent (if claim is not yet accepted)
- A short biography from the Applicant along with a short summary of the Applicant’s educational goals and how Kids’ Chance can help them achieve success.
- A recent photograph of the Applicant
